A.Y. Jackson Secondary School

Starting with the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge in 2007, AYJ has sent students on the Battlefields of Northern Europe tour every three years.  The tour includes visits to the D-Day beaches of Normandy, including Juno Beach, Dieppe, Ypres, Vimy Ridge as well as stops in Paris and Amsterdam.  Prior to past trips, in collaboration with the National Archives of Canada, AYJ students researched individual Canadian soldiers who lost their lives in WWI and WWI and are now buried at the Beny-Sur-Mer and Vimy Ridge Commonwealth War Cemeteries.  The next trip is scheduled for Spring 2015.  See Mr. Dotzenroth for details.
