What do students need to do to go to university?

Check entrance requirements at eInfo or at websites of individual universities.

Apply at the Ontario Universities Application Centre before January 12th, 2011. Fee is $120 for 3 choices.  Additional fee for additional choices.

If applying out-of-province or in the U.S., check websites of individual schools for applications, fees and deadlines.

Generally, students need to take six grade 12 U or M courses, including prerequisites.

Can students go on to university from Community College (even if they don’t meet the present admission requirements for the university program)?

Some programs have Articulation Agreements that allow some students to be accepted into related degree programs after completing specific college diploma programs with minimum average (often B+).  (For example, Early Childhood Education may lead to a B.A. degree in Child Studies or related discipline).

Students are often given credit for some of the work completed at college. Refer to the Ontario College University Transfer Guide
