Information given via e-mail to potential grads from Guidance regarding important dates, scholarships and bursaries.
What do students need to do to get into community college programs?
Check entrance requirements at OntarioColleges.ca or sites of individual schools.Apply at OntarioColleges.ca before February 1st, 2011. Fee is $95 for 5 choices (no additional choices). Attend the necessary testing sessions that may be required for some specific programs.
Note: many Community Colleges now offer Applied Degrees such as Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Interior Design (apply through Ontario University Application Centre). See OntarioColleges.ca or individual college websites for admission requirements.
Can students go on to university from Community College (even if they don’t meet the present admission requirements for the university program)?
Some programs have Articulation Agreements that allow some students to be accepted into related degree programs after completing specific college diploma programs with minimum average (often B+). (For example, Early Childhood Education may lead to a B.A. degree in Child Studies or related discipline).
Students are often given credit for some of the work completed at college.
