Ryerson University:  Will be visiting AY in the Library at lunch on Wednesday, January 18th.  Please take a moment to visit with the representative from Ryerson to see what programs they have to offer.

Memorial University:  Will be visiting AY in the Library at lunch on Wednesday, February 8th.  Please take a moment to visit with the representative from Ryerson to see what programs they have to offer.

Community Service Hours:  Remember 40 hours are needed in order to graduate.  Please check out the bulletin boards by Guidance and the Library

Victoria’s Quilts meets Tuesdays at Lunch in Guidance.  Come join us and earn an hour toward your community hours.

Guidance is looking for volunteers for the Grade 8 parent’s night, Thursday, January 19th at 6:45 p.m.  Please come to Guidance for more information.

Volunteers are needed for the Briarbrook & Morgan’s Grant Family Fun Day, Sunday, January 22nd from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Please come to Guidance for more information.

Upcoming Scholarships

Due:  2 February 2012Ottawa Senator Alumni Scholarship Program for graduating high school hockey players.  Scholarship is $1,000.  Applicants must be team member in good standing with their high school hockey team, must have a 70% academic average or higher, high school must be located within the National Capital Region, applicant must apply to a post secondary institution, Scholarship must be used within one year or graduating.  Come to Guidance for an application.

Due:  28 March 2012W. Garfield West Awards.  Tuition waiver from a consortium college renewable for up to 3 additional years; an $8,000 stipend renewable for up to 3 additional years; access to summer program funding of up to $3,500 and mentorship.  Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, be entering his or her first year of full time college in the fall of 2012, have a minimum average of 75% in courses required for his or her college program of choice.  Please visit www.garfieldwestonawards.ca to apply.
