• Discuss course options & graduation requirements
• Discuss the on-line course selection process
• Receive Media and Technology Permission Form
• Opportunity to ask questions

Step 2:        Go Home and discuss with your parents

• With the AY Jackson course selection hand-out and the OCDSB Secondary School Courses for 2012-2013 book, look at the courses you need to take.
• An electronic copy of thebookis also available on the OCDSB website. (‘students’, ‘secondary school course guide’)
• An electronic copy of the AY Jackson Course Selection Process hand-out is available at AYJ.ca (student services)

Step 3:        AY Jackson Grade 8 Parent Information Night (Thursday, January 19, 2012)

• Graduation requirements
• Course selection process (on-line)
• What courses are best for your son/daughter to meet their objectives
• Parents and students are invited to see what AY Jackson has to offer

Step 4:        Last Visit from AY Jackson Counselors (Thursday January 26, 2012)

• Last visit from AY Jackson Counselors to feeder school
• On-line Registration will be open from January 26 – February 1)
• It’s time to register yourself for AY Jackson!

Step 5:        Confirm your Student Course Request Verification (Before Wednesday February 1)

• Follow the on-line course selection process
• Print-out your Student Course Request Verification
• Student Course Request Verification to be signed by student and parent
• Media and Tech. Permission Form signed by student and parent

Step 6:        Hand everything in to your homeroom teacher (on February 1^st)

• Signed Printed Student Course Request Verification
• Signed Media Permission form – attached to this package

Step 7:        A.Y Jackson counselors will pick-up all forms from feeder school (February 2^nd 2012)
