1. The AY Baseball team came from behind for an exciting 8-to-4 win yesterday against the previously undefeated Cairine Wilson. Great pitching, good fielding, plus 2 home runs helped the team win the game! Come cheer on the team on Monday at the Nepean Sportsplex for the City Championships against South Carleton.

2. Grade 12 students can nominate their candidate for Valedictorian this week in the main office.   You can only make one nomination so think it through carefully.  Place your nomination form in the purple Valedictorian box in the main office by Wednesday, June 9.  The three students with the greatest number of nominations will have their names on the final ballot.  All graduating students will be able to vote for one of these candidates in the pit next week at lunch (Thursday & Friday).  Your choice for AYJ’s Valedictorian for 2010 will be announced next Friday afternoon (June 11).  Please see Mr. Barter if you have any questions.

1. Kenya Run 2010 is coming soon!!  Walk, or run 5 km or 10 km on May 15th, 2010. The cost of the race is $25 and includes a race t-shirt.  All proceeds go to our girl students in Lwak, Kenya.  We have been looking after the school for 4 years now and have gone from helping 9 girls to over 73 this year. Volunteers are needed to help sell daffodils for 3 hours at grocery stores and shopping centres across the city. Not only will you obtain the volunteer hours needed to graduate, but you can bring a friend along and together help fight cancer.
